Tripura CM pays tribute to 1971 martyrs

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar recently paid tribute to the security personnel, retired officers, Bangladesh Liberation freedom fighters and other officials on the occasion of Vijay Diwas to commemorate the 1971 war victory.

He also inaugurated a new War Memorial on the occasion and paid tribute to the war martyrs.

The 1971 war between India and Pakistan had led to the creation of Bangladesh as a nation from what was then known as East Pakistan.
