Members of the Tripura media fraternity on Monday conducted a march to protest against the gruesome terrorist attack on a school in Peshawar, an act of terror that killed 141 people, including 132 students.

The march, which started from the Agartala Press Club here, saw protesters light candles and pray for peace. The protesters also raised cries against the terrorists responsible, stating that the heinous attack had exposed the 'gruesome face' of terror and it needed to be condemned globally to make the world a peaceful place.

"We have gathered here to participate in a peace rally in protest against the recent killing of children in Pakistan. The rally has been organised by the media fraternity and people from the civil society and our well wishers and people from all walk of life have participated here," Pranab Sarkar, a participant in the protest rally, said.

"We want to spread the message of peace and say that not only Pakistan, such incident shall not be tolerated anywhere in the globe," he added. Last week, members of the banned terrorist outfit Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) attacked the Army Public School in Peshawar. According to reports, the terrorists stormed the Peshawar school dressed as Frontier Corps' officers. One of the militants reportedly blew himself up, while the others were gunned down by security agencies. Hundreds of people were taken hostage within the school premises before the terrorists were eliminated.
