Tripura photojournalist organise exhibition to mark World Photography Day

Lenseman from across Tripura organised a photo exhibition cum sell at Agartala on the occation of World Photography Day.

The three days programme was inaugurated by Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar who praised the show and said: "Photographs are historical records that links the past and the present. It is the reflection of truth; words can be changed but not photographs."

Hundreds of people flocked to see the camera work of the photographers and many even bought pictures.

One of the important visitors to the exhibition was Md. Ziaul Haque Mridha, MP from Bangladesh parliament who not only took interest in the photos but also expressed that such exhibition can also play an important role in bringing Bangladesh and India closer.

 

"Some of the pictures are very attractive and has strongly influenced me. Bangladesh and Tripura are at very closely proximity and connected. From the point of natural beauty both are also very close and the photographic artists can produce this before the world and further deepen the relation between the two countries (Bangladesh and India)," said Bangladesh MP Mridha.

The fund collected from the sale of the photographs will be donated to the family of late renowned photojournalist of the state Rakesh Debnath.

August 19 is observed as the World Photography Day. It is a special day for shutterbugs across the globe and for those who are fascinated by pictures.
