Terming the handing over of Hyderabad's law and order to state governor as "unconstitutional", Telengana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MP Jithender Reddy met Home Minister Rajnath Singh to share his concerns.

Talking to ANI, Reddy said, "In every other state, it is the chief minister who runs the law and order, as well as the government. The chief minister comes into power only through an election - it is the public that votes him into power. The public votes in the confidence that the elected person will run the state. The people want (chief minister) K Chandrasekhara Rao to run this state. The rule of the governor (ESL Narasimhan) will not do."

Reddy also added that there is no law which says that the transfer of state officials can be done by the governor.

However, according to Reddy, Rajnath Singh will hold talks with TRS leaders. "The Home Minister has assured us that we will have a discussion on this topic on August 18," he said.

The political storm was started when the Centre directed the Telangana government to hand over Hyderabad's law and order to the governor.
