With the escalation in protests against the killing of a Kashmiri trucker by a mob in Udhampur, Section 144 has been imposed on Thursday at four police stations areas of Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir.
Heavy restrictions have been set by the police and the CRPF on public movement and curfew has been imposed in Anantnag and Srinagar.
Unrest begun in the valley since protests broke out in Anantnag earlier, when the trucker Zahid's funeral took place, with violent clashes between the public and the police.
The opposition National Conference has blamed the BJP which rules Jammu and Kashmir in alliance with the People's Democratic Party (PDP) saying it was a 'needless death' in the name of beef ban for which the 'BJP and its allies' were responsible.
