The White House has clarified that United States President Donald Trump had no knowledge about Fox News' Seth Rich story.
White House spokeperson Sarah Huckabee Sanders, while addressing a press briefing on Tuesday, said, "The President had no knowledge of the story and it's completely untrue that he and the White House were involved."
She added that it's an ongoing litigation and thereby, referred questions to the lawyers and parties involved.
When asked if Sean Spicer met with a conservative donor who was pushing the story, Sanders said, "It doesn't bother me that the press secretary would take a meeting with someone on involved in the media about the story," adding that she takes meeting with members of the press all the time without knowing the story.
Earlier, a new lawsuit had alleged that the White House worked with Fox News to concoct a baseless story about the murder of Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich.
