United States President Donald Trump is likely to visit Israel the month to attend the inauguration of the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem.

"I may go. I'm very proud of it," Trump said during a joint press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, reported The Hill.

This came after Israeli media reported that Trump might not attend the opening ceremony, after he moved the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

The facility will temporarily be located in a building that currently has the U.S. consulate in Jerusalem.

"I had my name half-signed and then I noticed the figure and I just did," Trump said, as quoted by The Hill.

"I never got to the word 'Trump.' I had 'Donald' signed but I never got to the word 'Trump'," he added.

For the unversed, last December the President announced that he, fulfilling a 2016 campaign promise, would move the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
