The United States President, Donald Trump on Tuesday resumed his attacks on the mainstream media over coverage of the shooting in Las Vegas that left 59 people dead and more than 500 injured.

Trump retweeted messages posted by Fox News host Sean Hannity and former Fox News star Bill O'Reilly, both aimed at the mainstream media hours after departing storm-ravaged Puerto Rico.

"FNC dominated ratings last night. MSNBC-disaster demonstrating folks don't trust the network," O'Reilly wrote Tuesday night.

Hannity chimed in, promising to "name names" on his Tuesday night live broadcast from Las Vegas.

Earlier on Saturday, Trump had continued his Twitter rampage against the "fake media."

Trump resorted to late-in-the-day Twitter diplomacy and asked people to "not believe the Fake News."

"FakeNews critics are working overtime, but we're getting great marks from the people that truly matter!" he tweeted.

He also hash-tagged his tweets with #PRStrong and a Puerto Rican.

"We must all be united in offering assistance to everyone suffering in Puerto Rico and elsewhere in the wake of this terrible disaster."

Trump has frequently used his Twitter account to attack the accuracy of the news media.
