The Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility for an attack on a naval dockyard that left one officer and two militants dead.
TTP spokesperson Shahidullah Shahid issued a statement claiming responsibility for the attack on the Karachi naval dockyard.
The spokesman said that the group had support from inside the naval force for this attack, adding that the operation was successful because of the support.
He further said that the group would continue targeting security forces in a similar fashion in the future.
Earlier, the Pakistani Navy said in a statement on Monday that a group of miscreants had attempted to forcefully enter into the dockyard on Defence Day, following which, the security guards started firing, killing one sailor and injuring seven others.
