Tuki inspects vocation training provider centre in Itanagar twice

Overwhelmed by the tremendous response of job seekers as well as vocation training providers (VTPs), Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki inspected the venue at Indira Gandhi Park here for second time today and directed the officers concerned to have a fool-proof arrangement for the maiden event.

Tuki was accompanied by local legislator Techi Kaso and was apprised by Chief Secretary Hari Krishna that so far 14,000 unemployed youths have registered themselves while 36 VTPs have confirmed their participation besides National Skill Development Council Director General J P Roy.

He said that though the registration process was closed for further processing, but the pressure to accept more application was mounting which could not be entertained for making the process flawless.

 

The VTPs include top ranking PSUs, CPSUs and reputed corporate houses including NEEPCO, NHPC, Jindal, Reliance and Athena, whose representatives have already reached the state capital while others are on their way, the CM was told.

While CM's Adviser on Skill Development Sharada Prasad informed that those selected would be trained in batches for placement on need basis while Industries Secretary Surendra Ghonkrokta appraised about the process of interview and recruitment to be followed during the three-day event from August 30 to September 1.

Chief Secretary Hari Krishna also informed that police and security personnel would be engaged for maintaining discipline while the volunteers would be engaged to guide the job seekers.

"I've committed as a policy decision to generate one lakh employment during the 12th Five Year Plan (2012-15) and expect that the job mela would be a turning point to ink a history in this regard," Tuki said and exhorted all those officers and officials involved to ensure that everything goes smoothly.
