Two Andhra ministers resign after being accused in Jaganmohan Reddy disproportionate assets case

Andhra Pradesh Home Minister P Sabita Reddy and Roads and Buildings Minister D Prasada Rao, who were named as accused in a disproportionate assets case involving incarcerated Kadapa Member of Parliament Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, have resigned.

Sabita and Pradasa Rao submitted their resignations to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy late last night. The chief minister is likely to forward the resignation letters of the two ministers to Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan for approval today.

Prasada Rao, Revenue Minister in the then YS Rajasekhara Reddy government, has been named as an accused in a CBI chargesheet in the Vanpic land allotment scandal.

Sabita, who was previously Minister for Mines, has been named as an accused in the illegal allocation of mines to certain cement companies.
