Two Indian prisoners have approached the Lahore High Court (LHC) and sought a reduction in their prison sentences, and include the time spent in jail as under trials.
Lahore High Court judge Justice Ayesha A Malik, who was hearing the case, has sought a reply from the Pakistan Government on the appeal by the second week of November, the Daily Times reports.
A Pakistani military court had sentenced Muhammad Afzal and Muhammad Islam to serve four years each on charges of spying for India, the report added.
Their counsel said that Section 382-B of the Criminal Proceedure Code gave the provision that the court should consider the period of an under trial prisoner as part of his sentence of imprisonment.
