A fresh ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops in the Swajian sector of Poonch left two people injured last night. This is the fifth instance of ceasefire violation by Pakistan this month.

The village sarpanch of Kake-de-Kothe village, a grandfather and grandson duo, were injured in the firing.

Another villager, Yashpal Singh of Kake-de-Kothe village, said, "Last evening, around 7 p.m., small firing started from the Pakistani side, and it went on till midnight. After that, mortar fire started and many houses in the village were destroyed. At least two people have been injured. At around 3.30 a.m., this blast took place at my house."

Earlier on Friday, one civilian was killed, while four others were injured, as Pakistan resorted to ceasefire violation across the Line of Control (LoC) in Swajian.

A day before that, four civilians were injured after Pakistani Rangers resorted to unprovoked firing across the LoC, following which Border Security Force (BSF) personnel retaliated.
