According to the locals, the explosion occurred outside a local Tinamul Congress activist's courtyard.
Police officers, who rushed to the village, refused to confirm that the under-construction house, partially damaged in the explosion, belonged to a Trinamul leader. No one was arrested in the case till the reports last came in.
