At least two Naxals were killed in an encounter with police in Katekalyan area of insurgency hit-Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh on Saturday.
The police have also recovered arms and ammunitions from them.
Dantewada, 350 kilometres south of the state capital, is part of the mineral-rich Bastar region - a Maoist stronghold and the site of frequent clashes with security forces.
Maoists operate in at least 20 states but are most active in the forested areas of Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand and Maharashtra.
