Two senior Indian Olympics Association officials arrested in Glasgow

Two senior Indian Olympics Association's officials, including its secretary Rajeev Mehta, have been arrested in Glasgow on charges of alleged sexual assault and drunken driving, according to reports.

The Indian officials are in Glasgow for the 2014 Commonwealth Games, which will end tonight.

Scotland Police reportedly said that two male members, aged 45 and 49, were arrested on separate charges.

They said that while Mehta was arrested for driving in a drunken state, wrestling referee Virender Malik was booked for sexual assault.

The two accused will reportedly be brought in court on Monday.

India currently stands at the fifth place in the Glasgow Commonwealth Games with an overall total of 61 medals that includes eight gold, 16 silver and nine bronze medals.
