Two Sri Lankan smugglers intercepted at Visakhapatnam airport

A Sri Lankan national was intercepted on Thursday on inspection by the Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) at Visakhapatnam airport.

The passenger later admitted that he had swallowed two pieces of gold.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, another Sri Lankan national was intercepted at the Visakhapatnam airport when she tried to exit through the Green Channel.

88 grams of gold, meant for smuggling, was seized from her.

An investigation is underway.
