A case has been registered against Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat and party's candidate Braham Swaroop Brahmachari for violating the model code of conduct on Tuesday, just a day before the state goes for polling, reported the police officials.

According to Haridwar SSP Krishna, "A case has been lodged for holding road show beyond campaigning time and use of loudspeakers after 10 p.m."

Rahul held a 75-km road show in Haridwar with a huge cavalcade of bikers, motorists and drummers and a Nukkad Sabha in the city.

In the last leg of the election campaign, the Congress vice-president and Chief Minister Rawat also took part in Ganga Aarti at city's Har Ki Pauri late night on Sunday.

All the 70 constituencies of the hilly state will go to polls on February 15.
