Samajwadi Party leader and Minister of State without Portfolio in the Uttar Pradesh Government Satai Ram died tragically on Monday, when the car he was travelling in was crushed by a train at an unmanned crossing.
Jaunpur is about 257 kilometers from state capital Lucknow.
Confirming the news, Jaunpur's District Magistrate Suhas L Y said: "While UP Minister Satai Ram was coming from a village towards Jaunpur, his car met with an accident at an unmanned railway crossing."
Satai Ram's driver and another staff member, who were accompanying him, were also said to have been killed in the mishap.
