The United Sates has opposed the European Parliament's proposal to split Google's search engine from the rest of its business.
The U.S. Commission, in an email, said that it notes the EU proposal with concern.
According to CNET, the U.S. Mission to the European Union responded to the proposal by the European Parliament calling for an "unbundling" of Google's businesses with a critical tone.
The EU resolution is planned to curb the company's power and it would pose a significant threat to Google's business.
The firm already faces strong criticism in Europe about everything from privacy to tax policies, and has been fighting a European court's ruling that requires it to remove links from search results that people find objectionable.
