The United States (U.S.) Embassy in New Delhi will celebrate a Student Visa Day on Thursday, June 19. The U.S. Embassy plans to interview more than 1,000 student visa applicants.
On Student Visa Day, the U.S. Embassy will open its doors exclusively to students who are applying for F, J, and M visas to pursue educational opportunities in the United States. For academic studies, student visas are required for Indian students to enter the U.S.
Since October 2013, a record number of student visa seekers have applied in India. Student visa issuances increased by 40 percent as compared to the same period in the previous year. Nearly 100,000 Indian students are currently studying in the United States, enriching our classrooms and campuses, and building relationships that will last a lifetime.
Applicants on Student Visa Day will be treated to a festive, collegiate atmosphere along with refreshments. U.S. Embassy staff and representatives from the EducationUSA Center at the United States-India Educational Foundation will provide tips and information on academics and campus life to ensure student success in the United States.
Prospective student applicants can schedule an appointment for June 19 online at www.ustraveldocs.com/in, or
