Members of the gay activist group Queer Nation NY have protested at Carnegie Hall opposing strict anti-gay laws in Russia.

The Mariinsky Orchestra in a program of three Stravinsky ballets was briefly delayed by several members of the group demonstrating against Valery Gergiev, Putin's pal and the conductor of the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg, who has cracked down on gay rights in Russia, the New York Post reports.

This is the second time that a demonstration targeting Russia's anti-LGBT laws has been carried out in the United States.

Earlier, the activists had disrupted the opening night of the Metropolitan Opera last month.
