U.S.-India Business Council concludes eighth Annual Legal Service Conference

The U.S.-India Business Council (USIBC) concluded its eighth Annual Legal Services Conference entitled "Legal Implications of the 2016 U.S. Presidential Election on United States and Indian Corporates" here.

The conference attracted attorneys from the United States, Singapore, Hong Kong, and India, who focused on discussions in substantive legal areas, including e-commerce, government investigations, employment and immigration, litigation and arbitration, private equity, and Indian companies going global.

USIBC facilitated a keynote conversation with U.S. Governor Jack Markell and Maharashtra Industries Minister Subash Desai and awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award to Indira Jaising, the first female Additional Solicitor General of India.

The U.S. Ambassador to India Richard Verma provided keynote remarks at the Conference in Delhi and Co-Founder of TeamLease Manish Sabharwal provided a keynote in Bangalore as well.

 

"USIBC law firm attorneys and in-house counsel participated in lively discussions that brought our legal communities closer together. Conferences like USIBC's Annual Legal Services Conference not only help promote the rule of law and sharing of best practices, but also deepen connections and relationships between our two countries" said Amy Hariani, Director and Legal Policy Council at the U.S.-India Business Council.

USIBC is the premier business advocacy organization, comprised of 400 top-tier U.S. and Indian companies which was formed in 1975 at the request of the U.S. and Indian governments. USIBC is the largest bilateral trade association in the United States, with liaison presence in New York, Silicon Valley, and New Delhi.
