US led airstrikes in northern Syria failing to stop IS terror

A senior spokesman for Kurdish fighters said that airstrikes alone would not help in destroying IS militants

ANI London

United States led airstrikes in northern part of Syria have failed to stop Islamic State fighters to close in on the city of Kobani on the Turkish border, say Kurdish fighters.

According to the Guardian, the failure of airstrikes has raised questions about western strategy to destroy the IS fighters and defeating the jihadi movement.

IS units have edged to within two kilometres of the centre of the city of Kobani, according to Kurdish fighters.

A senior spokesman for Kurdish fighters said that airstrikes alone would not help in destroying IS militants in Kobani.

He also said that the fighter jets cannot hit each and every IS fighter in ground.
