External Affairs Minister (EAM) Sushma Swaraj met Governor of U.S. state of South Carolina Nikki Haley, who is on a 10-day visit to India, and embarked upon her tour from Chandigarh.
Haley met Swaraj with a view to attract business and hold talks on economic issues.
Haley interacted with politicians and industry leaders with an objective to seek strong business ties with India and attract investments in South Carolina and vice-versa in the field of aerospace, pharmaceuticals, tourism and agro-processing industries.
Earlier on Saturday, she also paid a visit to holy Sikh shrine Golden Temple in Amritsar, where the member of the Sikh clergy handed over his ceremonial sword to Haley's husband.
