A senior White House official has said that United States President Barack Obama's decision to visit India but not Pakistan is "in the interest of all the three countries".
According to the Express Tribune, Obama is the second U.S. President after Jimmy Carter to have not visited Pakistan during a trip to India.
Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes said that the President was not able to visit Pakistan in 2011 due to bilateral tensions that included the Bin Laden raid.
Rhodes said that U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry was able to visit Pakistan and have a strategic dialogue with the Pakistanis.
The senior official also said that the U.S.' relationship with India and Pakistan are not at the expense of each other.
