The United States Treasury Department is targetting groups and individuals who are linked to the militant groups Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Harkatul Mujahedeen.

On Tuesday, the U.S. department targetted the leader of Harkatul Mujahedeen who is popular for running training camps in eastern Afghanistan, reported the Dawn.

The Treasury Department also accused two people of having terrorist links for reportedly helping Lashkar-e Taiba with finances.

Undersecretary for terrorism and financial intelligence David Cohen said that both these groups were terrorist organizations that train and support extremist groups including al Qaeda.

The Treasury Department had imposed sanctions on a founding member of the LeT, last month and banned his business of currency exchange.
