Delhi Police on Wednesday summoned Uber's Asia-Pacific head Eric Alexander in the wake of alleged rape of a 27-year-old finance executive by the company's driver.
"We are doing everything we can. My heartfelt sympathies go out to the victim, we are very sorry," Alexander told the media after reaching the DCP's office in North Delhi.
According to reports, he was asked to furnish documents on employee verification, its database, and documents pertaining to employees they hire.
The latest development in this case takes place after the police recovered the iPhone that Uber had given to the accused driver.
Earlier today, a man attacked the General Manager of Uber Cab Services outside Collectorate Office in Mumbai.

The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) had yesterday stated that officials of the Uber cab company admitted to it that their agency had not followed guidelines laid down by the Delhi Transport Authority or the Delhi Police.
The incident of rape by Uber's cab driver last Friday has resulted in the Delhi Government banning the company from functioning in the national capital, even as the company assured its full co-operation to help the victim and her family in their recovery.
The accused cab driver had earlier been convicted for a similar crime and had spent over seven months in prison. However, he was later acquitted in that case.
