UCWeb's We-Media Program, a common platform for all viewpoints to be present together in one place, has seen immense success since its launch in August 2016 through its partnership with some of the biggest television shows including Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa &Bigg Boss 10 and bestselling author Chetan Bhagat.

UC News is a key component of UCWeb Inc, an Alibaba Mobile Business Group Company. The We-Media Program, which aims to provide the users with a mix of both regular and niche content, has seen major success in other countries and aims to bring viewpoints from celebrities, bloggers, key influencers or a common man to a single platform.

We-Media was announced earlier this year by bringing on board multiple celebrities, including host of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Manish Paul, celebrity author Chetan Bhagat and dancer Lauren Gottlieb as independent bloggers on the platform to share their views onJhalak Dikhhla Jaa show of Colors TV.

UCWeb worked with Chetan Bhagat again for the lunch of his latest Bestseller 'One Indian Girl' by hosting special contest for UC Browser users and by writing exclusive blog posts on UC News. Live chat with Chetan Bhagat on UC Browser promoting his new book was a major hit.

The event was viewed by over 15 lakh users, and attracted over 1.8 crore users to the campaign page in 3 days alone (Sept 28-30, 2016). UC News attracted a readership of 5 lakh for Chetan's bonus chapter of the book and helped add over 58 thousand fans to his account. The LIVE CHAT session on UC Browser has also emerged as a powerful tool to connect with masses for celebrities and self-publishers.

As part of the latest deal with Bigg Boss 10, under the We-Media program, famous Astrologer Bejan Daruwalla will analyze the drama happening in the show users and give his predictions in form of an exclusive blog post on UC News. UC News will also offer an exciting sneak peek into the Bigg Boss house and its daily drama by providing unseen footage, upcoming episodes promos, live reactions and celebrity snippets.

Robert Bu, GM, UCWeb India says, "Our role in the ecosystem is to provide the users with a mix of regular and niche content while, at the same time, empower the content provider. With We-Media we aim to help content creators by solving some of the most basic problems they face - finding and attracting the right audience along with monetising traffic. By the end of this year we are looking to reach 30 million daily active users generating traffic of 400 Million PVs daily, making UC News the Number 1 content aggregator in India.
