The authorities in Uganda foiled an attempted terror attack by the notorious al-Shabaab group in the country's capital Kampala.
The authorities thwarted the attack just days after the terror group threatened to take revenge in response to US air strikes that killed its leader Ahmed Abdi Godane.
Several suspects were arrested and explosives were recovered in the country's capital city on Saturday, Fox News reported.
The US embassy in Uganda had earlier warned Americans in the country that an attack was "imminent" and advised them to stay indoors.
The Ugandan police have beefed up security at all public places following the attempted attack.
