EMI Records India - the collaborative label between Universal Music India and the Bollywood film director Mohit Suri has come out with its latest project, the urban electronics collaboration Mango Beats.

The UK-based musical trio is led by Producer DJ Surinder Rattan and also includes rappers Illmatik and TRIX.

DJ Surinder is often regarded as one of the pioneers who started the Bhangra Pop Fusion in the UK and has taken it to greater heights overseas. However, the dream of coming up with a collaboration like Mango Beats only seemed to actualize when he met and worked with leading rappers Illmatik and TRIX.

In an exclusive interaction with ANI, DJ Surinder spoke about how Mango Beats originated. "I worked a great deal to develop and popularise the Bhangra Pop Fusion in the UK music industry. I wanted to brand my sound and take it to a global audience. This is how Mango Beats as a concept was initialised. But it only actualised when I met these other amazing rappers and I worked with them for quite some time before we realised that our chemistry would be electric both in the studios and on the stage! And since my grandmother nicknamed me Mango, we got the perfect name for the project."

DJ Surinder Rattan has single-handedly changed the UK Bhangra Scene through his Garage-fusion smash "Tappe" (from 'The Lick') in which he infused House Music. It is still regarded as the game changing track that created a new wave of interest in this genre of music! He has launched loads of hits such as Ik Gal Remix, Oh Girl OMG and Has Has. He is currently working with mainstream artists such as Platinum and the UK grime artist Gekho.
