A UK man recently made an attempt to walk the length of the river Nile and faced crocodiles, a brutal civil war and the death of a fellow traveler within four months.

The yearlong 6,380km journey along the world's longest river will see the former British army captain pass through seven countries.

Levison Wood who is currently in South Sudan as a part of his journey said that he always had a passion for Africa since he was young and it was the biggest expedition he could have thought of, News 24 reported.

Wood said that the toughest challenge he found was to keep the momentum going and not get too agitated when there were delays.
