The British Government has suspended flights between UK and the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh as officials believe that a bomb explosion could have brought down the Russian plane that crashed last week over the Sinai Peninsula.

UK Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond stated the government has advised against travelling through Sharm el-Sheikh airport as there is a 'significant possibility' of a bomb blast as a cause of the crash, the Guardian reported.

Even the United States officials believe that bomb could have been planted inside the plane by the extremist group that is affiliated with the Islamic States of Syria and Iraq (ISIS).

However, both Egyptian and Russian authorities have downplayed the possibility of terrorist act which led to the crash and has also dismissed the claims of responsibility by an Islamist group in Sinai.

On Saturday, St. Petersburg bound Russian plane crashed in Sinai Peninsula minutes after it took off from Sharm el-Sheikh airport in Egypt, killing all 224 passengers on board.
