UN chief Ban Ki-moon urges Pak to 'redouble' efforts in fight against terrorism

United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has urged Pakistan to "redouble" its efforts to combat terrorism and protect religious and ethnic minorities following the attack at a mosque in Shikarpur.

According to the Express Tribune, the UN chief's spokesman said that he was "appalled" by the attacks that target people on the basis of religious affiliation.

Ban Ki-moon condemned the attack and offered his condolences to the families of the victims and sympathies to the Pakistani government and people.

The attack in Shikarpur killed over 60 people and left 60 others injured at a mosque on January 30th.
