Unbeaten American professional boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. has declared that he will quit boxing after his bout with Andre Berto, as he has nothing left to achieve in the sport he loves.

Mayweather said that he had always said that the 49th would be his last fight, and added that he had pushed himself to the limit, and that there was nothing left to be accomplished, the Mirror reports.

Mayweather and former-welterweight champion Berto will square off on September 12 in Las Vegas. Mayweather is attempting to equal Rocky Marciano's 49-fight undefeated streak.

Earlier, the 38-year-old insisted that Berto was a worthy contender who could push him to the limit.
