An unclaimed bag was found near Bodh Gaya's Mahabodhi Temple on Friday.
The bomb disposal squad was rushed to the spot immediately.
"An unidentified bag has been found. It has been lying there since nine in the morning. Some people are saying it is there from the last night. It is dangerous if it is unclaimed," said Bhante Chalinda, one of the chief monks of the temple.
"The police is looking into the matter. They have restricted movement in the nearby area," he added.
