Veteran Australian fast bowler Ryan Harris is reportedly yet to prove his fitness for the Boxing Day Ashes Test and will play only one of the last two Tests.

Once again, Harris is likely to be given until the morning of the fourth Test at the MCG to convince the selectors that the swelling in his chronically damaged knee has subsided enough to carry him through another five days.

According to News.com.au, however given Harris's long and difficult injury history, if he makes it to and through the Melbourne Test, he would not be allowed another short turn around, despite a three-day break going into the last Test at the SCG.

Admitting that his knee is still sore, Harris said that he is finding ways of getting through it, adding that he has got the best medical team around him to help him with the decision to play or not to play.

The report mentioned that Harris was below his best bowling in England's second innings, delivering significantly fewer overs than Johnson or Siddle.

The veteran's first innings return of 3-48 from 22 overs was far more impressive than his 1-73 from 19 overs, the report added.
