Technology solution platform for students Univariety on Wednesday announced receiving investment worth Rs. 12.5 crore from Info Edge.
Univariety, which provides products, services, and counseling to students, schools, colleges and educators will utilise the funds for inbound sales to create a marketing strategy that is heavily driven by content and research, to develop the mobile app for iOS, for brand building to allow engagements with school managements personally and digitally.
Univariety will also indulge in product tie-ups, building multiple add-ons in the product like Direct Application to Indian colleges and foreign universities for the students.
The earlier investor in Univariety, People Combine Group which operates several IB and CBSE schools across India continues to remain invested in Univariety along with the incoming investor Info Edge.
"Info Edge is truly a pioneer in the internet space and has wide ranging expertise. I am thrilled to partner with them in our exciting journey. These funds will be utilized in developing a stronger sales and marketing system and in upgrading our product to suit the mobile environment fully. We are confident of the impact we have on our partner schools and now we will be able to reach out to a larger audience," said founder Univariety, Jaideep Gupta.
"Top colleges like IIT's and IIM's are known for their placements and alumni network. Univariety is bringing that same awareness and those systems at the K-12 School level. We believe that thousands of schools are interested in shaping student success and aligning to future trends. Univariety can play a strong role in helping position such schools uniquely," said co-promoter, MD and CEO Info Edge, Hitesh Oberoi.
The investment in Univariety creates a strong presence in the K-12 schools space and that will be complimentary to the other companies Info Edge has invested in.
