The United Nations Security Council has appealed for an immediate access to the MH17 crash site for investigation, adopting Australia's resolution.

The resolution demands free access to the crash site for study and investigation.

According to reports, there had been concerns that Russia might refuse the resolution.

United States President Barack Obama accused Russia of supporting the separatists in Eastern Ukraine while voicing his outrage at the White House.

Obama urged the Russian President Vladimir Putin to force separatists to cooperate into investigation, reports The Daily Telegraph.

British Prime Minister David Cameron has advised European Union to take measures against Russia if Putin refuses to withdraw rebels from crash site for further investigation.
