	Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Friday banned polythene bags in the state citing environment degradation as a major reason for the same.</p>
<p>
	&quot;The Polythene ban in the state is being initiated because of the court&#39;s order and also because it is environment friendly. We are also trying to find an alternative for the same,&quot; he said after the state Cabinet meeting.</p>
<p>
	Yadav also announced the &#39;Dial 100&#39; scheme for better handling of crimes in the state.</p>
<p>
	The &#39;Dial-100&#39; scheme would be launched tomorrow.</p>
