Uttar Pradesh Labour Minister Shahid Manzoor's daughter is feared drowned in the Ganga after she accidentally slipped into the river while bathing at the ghats.
The search and rescue operations are on to trace the girl.
"The search and rescue ops are going on. There are specific ghats where bathing in river Ganga is allowed, all are not safe," SHO Laxmanjhula, Amarjeet Singh, told ANI.
The girl, Abida Hasan, is a student of Meerut's Subharti Medical College. She had come to Rishikesh for river rafting and was reportedly staying at a camp with a group of five others.
Her relatives reached the spot after being informed about the incident.
