With water flowing in Saryu river above the danger mark, the authorities have issued necessary precautions for tourists to ensure no mishaps.
The visitors travelling via boats on the river are being provided with life jackets. In addition, authorities have also marked safe areas on ghats (banks) for the pilgrims to take bath.
A tourist from Gujarat, Hasmukh Patel said, "We have been asked not to go beyond the chains. There are also ample amount for chains for support so that we can bathe safely."
"Currently, the river is flowing 15 cm above the danger mark. Every boatman has been instructed to make sure that everyone on board is wearing life jackets. Authorities have also asked tourists to bathe within the chains," said Vijay Kumar who is a skilled work assistant with Central Water Commission, Ayodhya.
The situation, however, is set to improve as the water level is expected to decrease over the next few days, Kumar added.
