Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Sushma Swaraj, on Saturday urged the Centre to table the Telangana Bill in the Monsoon Session, and blamed the Congress-led UPA Government for the constant disruptions and adjournments in Parliament.

"It is my demand that in this session...the ruling government brings forth the Telangana Bill in Parliament," Swaraj said.

"I can say, today, the Congress Party and the Central Government are fully responsible for the disruptions in Parliament. No other political party is responsible for this," she added.

Swaraj's demand came a day after Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar suspended eight members from the Lower House for obstructing the proceedings on the Telangana statehood issue.

She named the members under Rule 374 (A) of the House proceedings which empowers the Speaker to automatically suspend a member for five consecutive sittings or the remainder of the session, whichever is less.

The Lok Sabha Speaker, who read out the names of the members- eight from the ruling Congress Party and four from Telegu Desam Party (TDP)-asked them to leave immediately.

The Monsoon Session of Parliament has been repeatedly disrupted and adjourned on several issues pertaining to Pakistani violations along the Line of Control (LoC), Chinese incursions, the Food Security Bill, separate statehood for Telangana and a rising demand for Bodoland.
