Amid speculations of a reshuffle in Uttar Pradesh Congress ahead of the assembly polls, UPCC president Nirmal Khatri has submitted his resignation to party president Sonia Gandhi.
The changes were expected in the party's state unit after senior leader Ghulam Nabi Azad was appointed in-charge of the UP affairs.
According to sources, the Congress has accepted the resignation of Khatri.
Khatri, former member of Parliament from the Faizabad constituency, was named UP Congress chief in October 2012, after party failed to make a mark in assembly elections.
Meanwhile, Ghulam Nabi Azad is likely to meet Sonia Gandhi at 10.30 am today.
