The Rajya Sabha today witnessed uproar over the issue of the Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examinations.

The opposition demanded a debate over the issue for which they also asked for suspension of the question hour.

The uproar even led to adjournment of the Rajya Sabha for 15 minutes as the chairman Hamid Ansari refused the suspension of question hour.

UPSC aspirants have been protesting vociferously against the Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) examination, which was introduced in 2011, demanding that it be made easy for rural students.

Earlier, in a bid to resolve the CSAT row, the government took a decision that the marks of English section will not be included for merit. This decision did not appease the protesting students completely as they want the CSAT to be scrapped entirely.
