ANI New Delhi

The government has decided that there will be no change in the pattern of Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) civil services examination and the aptitude test will continue to be a part of the prelims.

The statement issued by Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), however, stated that an expert committee will be constituted to take a holistic view of the aptitude test.

It further said that till the expert committee arrives at a conclusion, the Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) in the prelims will remain a qualifying paper with a minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33 per cent.

Last year in July, civil services aspirants had taken to streets to protest against CSAT claiming that mandatory English language and other questions asked in the paper put aspirants from rural areas at a

disadvantage.
