UPSC declares result for Civil Services examinations

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Saturday afternoon announced the results of its civil services exam.

A total of 1,236 candidates have been recommended for appointment to IAS, IFS, IPS and central services.

A total of 254 candidates have also been kept in a consolidated reserved list.

Candidate Ira Singhal topped the examination, with Renu Raj and Nidhi Gupta coming second and third.

Meanwhile, the result of one candidate has been withheld.

A total of 180 candidates have been recommended to IAS, with 32 to IFS, 150 to IPS, 710 to Central Services group 'A' and 292 to group 'B' services.

It is the first time that the final results are being declared within four days of the closing date for the interviews.

 

The civil services preliminary examination was conducted on August 24 last year at 2,137 venues in 59 centres across the country.

According to reports, a total of 1,364 posts are to be filled, for which about 4.51 lakh people appeared for the examination.
