United States House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee chairman Ed Royce on Tuesday called for cooperation between New Delhi and Washington DC in their respective intelligence agencies and homeland security agencies.

"One of the issues I brought up was closer cooperation between US and India on bringing to India the leadership in our US intelligence agencies and homeland security. I had the opportunity to have a dialogue after the Mumbai attacks with counter-terrorism experts in India. I think this needs to be at the highest level and the reason is the evolution of the internet, which brings new challenges with respect to the entire region," Royce told the media here.

Earlier in the day, Royce had said that he has asked for Pakistan to hand over Lashkar-e-Taiba leader Zaki ur Rehman Lakhvi to India, or failing that, to the International Criminal Court in The Hague for 'crimes against humanity'.
