The United States embassies in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Thailand have warned of possible spurts of violence and anti-America protests following the release of a Senate report detailing the harsh "rendition, detention and interrogation program" employed by the Central Investigative Agency (CIA) on terror suspects in the aftermath of 9/11 attack.

Notices issued to Americans in the three countries warned them of anti-US protests and violence against US interests, including private US citizens and asked them to be alert to their surroundings. It also advised them to take appropriate safety precautions and avoid demonstrations and confrontational situations, reported the Dawn.

Afghanistan and Thailand were home to two of the secret facilities where prisoners were interrogated.
