US Ambassador to India Kenneth Juster on Tuesday walked away when he was asked about an update on David Headley, who is reportedly in ICU after being attacked in a prison in the United States.

The Pakistani-American terrorist was jailed in the US for his role in the 2008 Mumbai terror attack.

However, according to reports, Headley is now fighting for his life after being attacked by prisoners earlier this month.

Juster held a meeting with Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi here earlier in the day.

When a reporter asked him, "What is the update on David Coleman Headley, is he alive or struggling for life?" Juster did not respond and walked away instead.

Before leaving however Juster said he had an "excellent meeting" with Naqvi.

"We had an excellent meeting, a very enjoyable discussion of issues that relate to both United States and India. It was a very positive meeting," he said.
